Free Medical Consultation at the 2023 Widows’ Summit
As part of our ongoing commitment to holistic care and empowerment, Sustaining Peace Foundation (SPF) organized a Free Medical Consultation Program during the 2023 Widows’ Summit. This health initiative was designed to provide basic healthcare access, promote wellness, and address underlying medical concerns among widows, a group often underserved in matters of health and well-being.
In total, 78 widows, alongside several SPF team members who participated in the summit, benefited from this intervention. The medical consultation included:
General health checks (blood pressure, blood sugar level, and temperature)
Personalized medical advice and diagnosis by licensed healthcare professionals
Referrals for further medical attention when necessary
Distribution of essential medications for minor ailments and vitamins
The medical outreach served not only to address immediate health needs but also to raise awareness about preventive healthcare. Many of the beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation, citing this as the first time they were receiving any form of professional medical care in years.
By incorporating health services into our empowerment and support programs, SPF continues to promote the overall well-being of widows, aligning with our vision of building peaceful, healthy, and resilient communities.
